Desert Air Oasis: BreathCore-7, Burning Man 2025
Elnara Nasirli, MXNZM
Built in 2162, after the mass extinction of plant life, model Desert Air Oasis: BreathCore-7 has allowed people in the desert to survive sustainably for decades. According to Air Tax Law 710-M, adopted Nov. 7, 2139, 7378 U.N.T.S. 92 (entered into force January 14, 2140), each citizen is required to build breathing machines to replace live trees.
Experience unparalleled air purification with the BreathCore‑7, designed specifically to combat the challenges of desert environments. Its advanced filtration system captures fine dust, allergens, and pollutants common in arid climates, ensuring the freshest, most breathable air indoors. Perfect for creating your personal oasis, BreathCore‑7 transforms dry, dusty air into a clean, revitalizing breeze. Ideal for homes, offices, and any space needing a breath of fresh air amid desert conditions.
Visually meditative due to breathing kirigami lungs and the slow rotation of a replica propeller engine, the installation is a dance between the organic and mechanical, questioning the function of machines that will both lead to mass environmental loss and provide solutions for future survival.
The artwork for Burning Man is an upgraded design to Air Oasis: BreathCore 7, which was first presented at the Gazelli Art House for COP29 in Baku, as part of the Parallel Worlds Exhibition. This artwork was then nominated for the BBA Art Prize in Berlin in 2025 and received the Lavazza Blend Forward Award and Audience Award. After Burning Man, it was presented at the Reno Art Fair in September 2025.
