Of the Earth: Earthly Technologies to Computational Biologies

Elnara Nasirli participated in Of the Earth: Earthly Technologies to Computational Biologies, a major group exhibition at Diriyah Art Futures exploring the complex and increasingly entangled relationships between technology and the natural world.

Bringing together more than 30 local, regional, and international artists, the exhibition examined how technological systems are reshaping our relationship with nature, while addressing hybrid ecologies, extractivism, and the environmental impact of digital infrastructures. Rather than positioning technology as separate from the natural world, Of the Earth drew attention to its material origins and dependencies — from minerals and energy to the physical infrastructures that sustain computational systems.

Nasirli presented Whispering Forest, extending her ongoing exploration of environmental technology, living systems, and the shifting relationship between organic and technological forms.

Through collaborations across art, technology, and science, Of the Earth invited audiences to reconsider humanity’s position within interconnected ecological systems and to imagine forms of technology shaped not by dominance over nature, but through collective, interspecies, and planetary intelligence.
